Nicole co-founded ProActive Psychology over 12 years ago to build a practice that genuinely serves South Western Sydney’s diverse communities. One that works with people, not at them.
She works collaboratively with children, adolescents, adults, and families, drawing on evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and trauma-informed frameworks. Nicole tailors support to each person’s goals, values, and stage of life.
With more than 20 years of experience, Nicole provides clinical leadership at Star4kids and is committed to improving access to quality psychological care for children and families across Southwest Sydney.
As a Fellow of the Australian Psychological Society, a Board-approved supervisor, and a member of the APS Clinical Psychology Interest Group, she contributes to professional development by supervising 4 + 2 and 5 + 1 provisional psychologists, clinical registrars, and early-career clinicians.
Nicole values inclusive and culturally responsive practice and acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands where she works, paying respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and their ongoing connection to Country, community, and culture.

Psychologist, Clinical Registrar
Nicole works with adolescents, young adults, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and OCD.
Her approach is calm, practical, and non-judgmental. She draws on cognitive behavioural therapy, schema therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy, adapting her approach to what actually works for each person.
Nicole holds First-Class Honours in Psychology and a Master of Clinical Psychology, and is currently completing her PhD and Clinical Psychology endorsement.

Michael works with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing depression, anxiety, addiction, and workplace stress. He places a strong emphasis on early intervention.
His approach is practical and non-judgmental, drawing on cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness, adapting each to the individual.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) and is currently completing his Master of Clinical Psychology. He is an associate member of the Australian Psychological Society.

She supports clients through therapy, behaviour support, social skills training, and parent coaching, drawing on cognitive behavioural therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, adapting each to the individual.

Sonya leads parenting and children’s groups at ProActive Psychology, with a focus on supporting anxious children and their families. Before becoming a counsellor she worked in emergency services and law enforcement, bringing a grounded, practical understanding of trauma and stress.
She supports parents to respond calmly and consistently to anxiety at home, and creates a steady group space for children focused on regulation, confidence, and coping skills.
Sonya uses cognitive behavioural strategies and trauma-informed practice, with a focus on practical tools families can use in everyday life.

Maria is completing her Master of Psychology (Clinical) at ACAP University College and is provisionally registered with AHPRA.

Lindsay co-founded ProActive Psychology with Nicole 12 years ago and oversees the day-to-day running of the practice, including operations, finance, compliance, and NDIS frameworks.
His background in technology leadership across APAC informs how the practice approaches governance, risk management, and operational integrity, ensuring the clinical team can focus on clients.
Lindsay holds an MBA and brings particular focus to AHPRA compliance and the long-term sustainability of the practice.

Practice Manager
Joanne brings extensive experience in allied health clinic operations, with a strong background in psychology practice management, NDIS billing, Medicare, and client intake. She is passionate about neurodiversity-affirming practice and creating accessible, welcoming experiences for every client.
She holds a Bachelor of Business from Western Sydney University, a Diploma of Life Coaching with ADHD specialisation, and is a member of the Australian Association of Practice Management.

Dahlia is the first point of contact for many clients at ProActive Psychology. She is currently completing a Bachelor of Psychology at Macquarie University and brings warmth, care, and cultural awareness to every interaction.

Aleza keeps the front desk running smoothly and is often the first voice clients hear. She takes pride in making every person feel welcome and at ease.

Financial Coordinator
Alvin manages billing and reconciliation across NDIS, Medicare, STAR4Kids, and private programs. He ensures all funding functions are handled accurately and in compliance with AHPRA requirements and Australian Privacy Principles.
Alvin holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and holds a QuickBooks certification.
