Worried about what this costs? Let's be straight with you.

Most of our families don’t pay full price. Some pay nothing.

What This Normally Costs, and What You'll Actually Pay

The recommended fee for a standard session in 2026-27 is $318. That’s the number the Australian Psychological Society puts out. We sit well under it, and once your funding kicks in, most people pay a fraction of that, or nothing. Which one applies to you depends on your situation. Have a read below, or just call us and we’ll sort it out with you on the phone.

Please note our Appointment Confirmations and Cancellations Policy that applies to all services.

We’re a registered NDIS provider, and psychology usually comes out of your Capacity Building budget under Improved Daily Living. We take self-managed, plan-managed and agency-managed plans.

The rate is $252.99 per session, billed to your plan. Most participants pay nothing out of pocket. We sort the service agreements and the progress reports so you’re not chasing paperwork.

Medicare Better Access for Mental Health

Get a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP and Medicare pays you back on up to 10 sessions a year. The rebate lands in your account, so your real cost is the gap.

Motor accident (CTP)

If you are receiving psychology support after a motor vehicle accident, your sessions may be funded through your CTP insurer as part of your claim.

This applies whether you were a driver, passenger, pedestrian or cyclist. Your insurer will usually issue a referral or approval for psychology.

Confirming Appointments and Cancellation Policy

At ProActive Psychology, we are deeply committed to your mental health and well-being, ensuring we provide high-quality psychological services tailored to your individual needs. Our psychologists invest significant time planning and preparing for your sessions, prioritising your appointment without overbooking, to devote the entire session time exclusively to you.

We kindly ask for your cooperation in confirming your appointments by responding to our SMS reminders for each session. This helps us manage our schedule effectively and extend our services to others in need.

Rescheduling and Cancellations

If you need to change or cancel an appointment, you must tell us early. This rule applies to all programs.

The rule: Tell us at least 2 full working days before your appointment. Weekends and public holidays don’t count as working days.

The easiest way to think about it:

Your appointment is on…Tell us by the end of…
MondayWednesday the week before
TuesdayThursday the week before
WednesdayFriday the week before
ThursdayMonday this week
FridayTuesday this week

If there is a public holiday in between, you need to tell us even earlier. Ask us if you’re not sure.

If you tell us too late or don’t attend your appointment, you will be charged the full session fee.

Voicemails outside business hours don’t count. You must speak to us during business hours.

Sick or Emergency

Call us as soon as you can during business hours. We may be able to switch you to a phone or online session so you don’t lose your spot. If you only call us once your session has started, the full fee applies.

Late Arrivals

Arriving on time for your appointments is important. If you are more than 20 minutes late, we cannot run the session — there isn’t enough time left for therapy to be effective. In these cases, the full session fee applies (see fee schedule above).

Respectful Communication

Our reception and support staff are here to help with any questions or concerns. We aim to keep a friendly, professional atmosphere and ask all clients to communicate with our staff respectfully.

Thank you for understanding and following our confirmation and cancellation policies. Your cooperation helps us continue providing quality care to you and to our community.

Cancellation Policy and Non-Attendance Fee Schedule
